Coke vs. Pepsi

Coke and Pepsi have been the two dominate soda brands in the world since the late 1800's. Countless taste test have been performed in malls and city streets around the world, but have we gotten any closer to a winner? There are those that claim they can test the difference immediately and one is sweeter than the other. Depending on the venue we visit, most of the time our decision is made for us. However whether we know it or not, we do prefer one brand over the other.

Coke

There is no denying that the Coca Cola company was the first to bring the carbonated refreshment to our lips. People all over the world recognize Coke as not just a soft drink but as one of the biggest brands in the world.

The Coca Cola logo is probably one of the most recognized logo's in the world. In some parts of the United States, no matter what beverage you ask for you refer to it as a "Coke". The logo has had very little variation over the years, and the colors have been the same since it's first creation.

Being the market leader for most of it's life, the Coca Cola Company can actually say that in some third world countries, more people drink their soda on a daily basis than clean water.

Rumor has it that only a handful of people actually know the formula to beverage, which makes it even more of an urban legend. There is a reason that people say they'll have a Jake and Coke.

Pepsi

Pepsi has been fighting every since their inception to gain a little respect in the "Soda Wars". So they openly admit to copying Coke and changing the taste just enough so it isn't actually the same. However there are actually a lot of differences, so of which make Pepsi stand out from the crowd.

First look at the logo. It's gone from looking very similar to Coca-Cola to looking nothing like it all. In fact the red, white and blue make it seem very patriotic which even carried through to it's tag line at one point. Pepsi over the years became know as "The Choice of a New Generation".

Pepsi has also had some of the biggest stars in Hollywood support it's brand. Michael Jackson being one of the biggest.

I enjoy Coke for than anything else. I don't know of any other soft drink that goes as well with my other favorite beverage Jack Daniels.
